Electric vehicles (EVs) are a type of automobile that uses electric power as opposed to traditional internal combustion engines that rely on gasoline or diesel. These vehicles harness electricity stored in a battery pack to power an electric motor, which in turn drives the wheels. This fundamental difference in power source leads to several key distinctions between EVs and conventional vehicles, including lower emissions, reduced noise, and different maintenance requirements.

The three types of EV

1. Battery EVs (BEVs)

BEV cars, or Battery Electric Vehicles, are automobiles powered entirely by electricity stored in rechargeable batteries. Unlike traditional internal combustion engine vehicles, BEVs do not use gasoline or diesel and produce zero tailpipe emissions, making them environmentally friendly. They rely on electric motors for propulsion and can be charged via home or public charging stations. BEVs offer benefits such as lower operating costs, reduced maintenance, and a quieter driving experience.
