The new Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4Matic+, the performance sub-first brand's totally electric vehicle, made its introduction immediately before this year's IAA Mobility event (also known as the Munich Motor Show). Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ performance is propelled by a dual-motor all-wheel drive system. By default, the system generates 484 kW (658 hp metric) and 950 Nm. This propels the capacious EV sedan from zero to one hundred kilometres per hour in 3.8 seconds while the AMG Dynamic Plus Package, the AMG EQS 53 produces a mind-boggling 560 kW (761 hp metric) and 1,020 Nm. The century dash time is a touch quicker at 3.4 seconds. The default maximum speed of the EQS 53 is 220 km/h, while the AMG Dynamic Plus Package increases this to 250 km/h.

An overview of the EQS 53 4MATIC+'s technical specifications are as follows:

The all-wheel drive technology evenly distributes torque between the axles while continuously monitoring the driving environment (torque is tested 10,000 times per minute). The technology seeks to maximize efficiency in Comfort mode, but in Sport and Sport+, it shifts its focus more toward the rear in the "interests of higher lateral motion."

The drivetrain not only produces power but can also recover up to 300 kW of energy when braking, with the driver having control over the amount of recovery. With the optional Drive Pilot, deceleration is automatic in reaction to recognized vehicles ahead until they come to a stop, as is the case when approaching traffic signals. There are three steps that can be selected via switches on the steering wheel.

The EQS 53 4MATIC+ is equipped with a 108.4-kWh battery cell that provides a maximum range of 586 kilometres (WLTP). Regarding charging, 200-kW DC fast charging is the quickest charging procedure. Equipped with a 200-kW DC charging, the EQS 53 4MATIC+ can achieve a range of 300 kilometres in only 19 minutes. The EQS 53 4MATIC+ comes standard with 11-kW AC charging, but clients have the option to upgrade to a 22-kW AC charging system.

With the exception of the AMG seats with unique graphics, Artico man-made leather upholstery, Microcut microfibre, and red contrast topstitching, the inside is once again familiar. Customers can also request Nappa leather for the seat coverings as an option. Other extras include a performance steering wheel from AMG, sports pedals, AMG-branded floor mats, and door sill trim.

The three screens that make up the Mercedes-Benz User Experience Hyperscreen (MBUX Hyperscreen), which is still present, are still distributed over the dashboard. The AMG Dynamic Select driving modes are among the additional features here that are unique to the AMG model.

In order to create sounds that correspond to the tonality and intensity of the present driving situation, drivers can also experiment with the AMG Sound Experience, which comes in two versions: Authentic and Performance (available with AMG Dynamic Plus). There are also plenty of extras, including the AMG Night Package Dark Chrome, red brake calipers, AMG carbon trim, and AMG Track Pace, all of which come at a price.
